What we actually offer — and how it works
Rivervbeta's service menu is organised around outcomes, not jargon. You tell us where you want to end up — a sun-kissed balayage, a bold vivid red, a clean base with dimensional highlights — and we map out the sessions it takes to get there honestly. Some colour goals need two visits; we'll say so upfront rather than overpromise in one appointment and underdeliver. All colour services include a complimentary consultation, a bond-protecting treatment applied during processing, and a take-home care guide printed for your specific formula. Haircut and blowdry can be added to any colour appointment. Skincare and nail services are booked separately, though combination packages are available on Thursdays and Fridays.

Balayage & Babylights
Hand-painted highlights blended for a natural, rose-warm gradient. We use a free-hand technique calibrated to your face shape, with tone customised to your skin's undertone.
Vivid & Fashion Colour
Full vivid transformations — rose, copper, burgundy, editorial pastels. Requires a bleach consultation beforehand for dark starting points. Results are bold and intentional.
Root Smudge & Gloss
A single-session refresh that melts your root into your existing colour and deposits shine-amplifying tones. Ideal between full colour appointments to keep things looking editorial.
Full Highlights & Lowlights
Classic foil work, updated for modern dimension. We mix warm and cool tones within the same head for depth that photographs well and feels natural in Halifax's varied lighting.

Precision Cut & Blowdry
From $65. Shape and weight-distribution tailored to grow out cleanly. Works with natural wave patterns — we don't fight your texture.
Signature Facial
From $80. 60-minute treatment using a rose-infused, warming product line suited to Nova Scotia's dry-air winters. Includes double cleanse, exfoliation, mask, and SPF finish.
Gel Manicure
From $50. Long-wear gel in curated seasonal palettes, plus classic polish and nail art on request. Removal and nail health check included in every return appointment.

Do I need a consultation before my first colour appointment?
Yes — all new colour clients begin with a complimentary 15-minute consultation, either in-salon or by video. We look at your hair history, assess its condition, and give you a realistic picture of what's achievable in one session versus a multi-step plan.
Can you fix a colour job I had done somewhere else?
Often yes, but it depends on the starting point. Corrective colour is one of our most-requested services. We'll do a strand test at your consultation and give you an honest assessment of timing and cost before any product touches your hair.
How long does a full balayage appointment take?
Typically 3 to 4 hours, including application, processing, toning, a bond treatment, and blowdry. We schedule generously so your stylist is never rushing a step that affects the final result.
Are your products safe for colour-treated hair?
Every product we use in-salon — from developer to bond builder to finishing serum — is selected specifically for chemically treated hair. We'll also recommend a take-home routine matched to your exact colour formula.
Do you offer appointments for teens?
Yes, with a parent or guardian present for any chemical service if the client is under 16. We treat every client's hair with the same standard of care regardless of age or budget.
